Dusona falcator is a large species of parasitic wasp belonging to the family Ichneumonidae, subfamily Campopleginae.
Front and middle legs almost entirety yellow, hind femurs and tarsi mostly black.
It can be hard to distinguish D. falcator from closely related species such as Dusona obliterata, who has a similar color pattern and size.
[4] Females attack larvae of the buff-tip moth during the summer and lays her eggs inside their bodies.
The wasp's larva develops by eating the tissue of the host, eventually killing it.
