SERMC oversaw the Army's hospitals and clinics within the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico.

During one visit in 1965 he suffered a heart attack and was treated in a large private suite in the old hospital for two weeks before being sent to Walter Reed in Washington by train.

The relationships have infused millions of dollars into the Augusta community, as well as provided veterans, beneficiaries and family members with better access to the care and procedures they need.

A wide range of cardiac, thoracic, vascular services, and minimally invasive techniques are used to address cardiothoracic issues.

ASAM Level III Programs are the highest level of multidisciplinary treatment programs and provide care to the full spectrum of patients with alcohol and substance dependence disorders combined with conditions such as PTSD, Depression, and mild Traumatic Brain Injury.
