It is bordered to the west by the city of Manistee and to the south by Stronach Township.

Highway M-55 crosses the northeast corner of the village, leading east 47 miles (76 km) to Cadillac northwest 1 mile (1.6 km) to U.S. Route 31 in Parkdale, providing road access to the city of Manistee.

As of the census[8] of 2010, there were 512 people, 231 households, and 147 families residing in the village.

30.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
