Edward Monroe Miller (December 10, 1919 – April 11, 1977) was an American country music songwriter, best known for co-writing the song, "Release Me" which has been a hit for numerous artists.
Miller also co-founded both the Country and Western Music Academy and the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
[1] In the 1960s Miller co-founded the Country and Western Music Academy in Hollywood,[2] as well as the Nashville Songwriters Association International, serving as the organization's president for the first two years.
The project featured Kay Adams as Mary Lou, Ray Sanders as Sheriff Tom, Alice Rene as Jezebel Jones and Jerry Naylor as Johnny Brown.
Miller actually wanted Rene for the Mary Lou character, but Capitol Records went with Kay Adams.
