Eklil Ahmad Hakimi (Pashto: اکلیل احمد حکیمی; born 1968) was Afghanistan's Minister of Finance and a former Afghan diplomat.
After graduating from Istiqlal French High School in 1985, he obtained his master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Kabul Polytechnic Institute in 1992.
On 28 January 2015, Hakimi after obtaining the vote of confidence of the people's representatives in the Parliament was elected as the Minister of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
There he worked for the government in a variety of capacities, including in the Ministry of Finance, the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission, and the Office of the Vice President.
[1] In 2005, Hakimi was named Afghanistan's ambassador to China, and presented his credentials to Chinese President Hu Jintao on 28 December 2005.
[4] He called for closer cooperation with China in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, and natural resources as well as in the fight against terrorism and illegal narcotics.
