Elaine Batchlor

[4] Upon completing her medical degree, Batchlor was a clinical instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

[6] As a result of her efforts, Batchlor was the recipient of the 2015 Woman of the Year Award from the Women in Health Administration of Southern California.

[7] She was also recognized as the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year by the Association of Black Women Physicians in recognition of her work to increasing healthcare access for underserved communities.

[9] She was later recognized by the National Academy of Medicine for "her leadership in improving access and quality care for underserved communities, as chief medical officer for the nation’s largest public health plan and as a driving force as founding CEO of the state-of-the-art Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in a deeply underserved section of Los Angeles.
