Elgy Gillespie (born 1948) is an English-born Irish journalist and author.
Gillespie was born in London in 1948, to a Belfast father and an Anglo-German mother.
[1][2] Gillespie wrote for The Irish Times between 1971 and 1986, for columns including "Women First".
[3][4][5] Gillespie left Ireland in 1986, and has lived in the U.S. since, mostly in San Francisco.
