[14] Elkhorn South athletic teams are nicknamed the Storm and compete in the Metropolitan High School Activities Association.

[15] Elkhorn South has three competitive show choirs: the mixed-gender "Blackout" and "Power Surge" as well as the all-female "Shockwave".
