In 2009 his family relocated to Hoboken, New Jersey, were attended Hamilton Park Montessori School.

[3] After completing the eight grade in June 2020, during the COVID pandemic, Ellis left mainstream education to follow a self-directed learning path.

[5] In 2019, he participated in an adult league offered by Autobahn Palisades, gaining his first championship win.

[3] Ellis participated in a number of Lucas Oil Race School events, including the 2019 Scholarship Shootout.

[5] In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 epidemic, Ellis participated in the DEKM, an electric kart championship in Germany.
