He influenced the works of countless painters namely Emmanuel Tzanes, Franghias Kavertzas, Philotheos Skoufos and his son Theofilakto Tzanfournaris.
Emmanuel's teacher was the famous Cretan painter Thomas Bathas.
In Venetian public records, he is known as Manuel Zanfornari da Corfou.
