Episterol

13-dimethyl-17-[(2R)-6-methyl-5-methylideneheptan-2-yl]-2,3,4,5,6,9,11, Episterol is a sterol involved in the biosynthesis of steroids.

Episterol is converted to 5-dehydroepisterol by ERG3, the C-5 sterol desaturase in the yeast.

[1] Episterol is also known to be a precursor to ergosterol.
