Ericusa fulgetrum

Ericusa orca Cotton, 1952 Ericusa fulgetrum, the lightning volute, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Volutidae, the volutes.

[1] The species Latin name fulgetrum means "lightning" (hence the common name).

The shell of Ericusa fulgetrum can reach a length of 75–200 millimetres (3.0–7.9 in).

It has a glossy marbled surface, sometimes with dark brown zig-zag bands.

Protoconch is smooth and rounded and the aperture is elongate, with a thickened outer lip.
