Eskridge, Kansas

Eskridge is a city in Wabaunsee County, Kansas, United States.

[7][8] In 1943, German and Italian prisoners of World War II were brought to Kansas and other Midwestern states as a means of solving the labor shortage caused by American men serving in the war effort.

Fort Riley established 12 smaller branch camps, including one west of Eskridge at Lake Wabaunsee.

[9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.52 square miles (1.35 km2), all land.

[10] The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.

[11] Eskridge is part of the Topeka, Kansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The 2020 United States census counted 439 people, 179 households, and 107 families in Eskridge.

There were 214 housing units at an average density of 413.9 per square mile (159.8/km2).
