Espenhain is a village and a former municipality in the Leipzig district, in Saxony, Germany.
[1] Espenhain is situated in the Leipzig Bay approx.
20 km south Leipzig and 8 km north of Borna, in the middle of the newly minted New Lake District.
The solar power plant Espenhain Leipzig is in the municipality.
The power plant was dedicated on the September 8, 2004 and at that time one of the largest of its type in Europe.
