Eurytemora is a genus of copepods in the family Temoridae.
[1] The genus was established by Prussian zoologist Wilhelm Giesbrecht, who in an 1881 publication, proposed dividing the genus Temora into Halitemora (hali, Latin for salt, + temora) and Eurytemora (eury-, Latin for wide or broad, + temora), listing differences in morphology as well as habitat.
[2] Halitemora is not currently accepted as valid, but a number of species previously included in Temora have been moved to Eurytemora:[3] The World Register of Marine Species lists the following species:[1]
