Since 2023, she has been a member of the Swiss Parliament, serving in the National Council for the Social Democratic Party (SP) of the Canton of Solothurn.
She studied at the Bishop's College before moving to Switzerland along with her parents at the age of six, where she continued her education in Grenchen.
Subsequently, she began a career in healthcare and completed her Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
[2][3] Rumy is co-president of the labor union for nursing staff in the Aargau-Solothurn section and works as a teacher at a vocational school.
Before her candidacy for the Cantonal Council, Rumy joined the SP in 2020, partly due to her experiences in nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
