Fernando Silva (swimmer)

Fernando Souza da Silva (born 7 April 1986 in Rio de Janeiro)[1][2][3] is an Olympic and national record holding swimmer from Brazil.

As he began to achieve good results in the faster swimming races, he became a sprinter and established himself as one of the best in his country.

[4] He was at the 2008 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m), in Manchester, where he reached the 4×100-metre medley final, finishing 6th,[11] and beating the short-course South American Record, with a time of 3:28.88, along with Guilherme Guido, Felipe França e Lucas Salatta.

[15] At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Silva participated in the 4×100-metre freestyle, but the Brazilian team was disqualified.

[1][2] At the 2009 World Aquatics Championships, held in Rome, Silva ranked fourth in the 4×100-metre freestyle, along with Nicolas Oliveira, Guilherme Roth and César Cielo, with a time of 3:10.80, a new South American record.
