The racial makeup of the township was 71.24% White, 2.07% African American, 0.80% Native American, 0.87% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 13.29% from other races, and 11.66% from two or more races.

19.90% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
