Fred Catherwood

Sir Henry Frederick Ross Catherwood (30 January 1925 – 30 November 2014) was a British politician and writer.

He was former Director General of the National Economic Development Council, Chief industrial Adviser at the Department of Economic Affairs (1964–66), President of the Evangelical Alliance and President of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) He was knighted in 1971.

He was elected as a Conservative member of the European Parliament for Cambridgeshire and related areas from 1979 until his retirement in 1994.

Their daughter, Bethan Marshall, is a university lecturer, and younger son Jonathan is Director of the Martyn Lloyd Jones Trust.

Sir Fred Catherwood died in Cambridge, England on 30 November 2014 at the age of 89.
