Prior to his appointment to the bench, he was a private legal practitioner and the managing partner of Pwamang and Associates.
The process was further protracted when a member of the General Legal Council lodged a complaint against him challenging his appointment.
[2] While in private practice, his areas of expertise included: Land and Natural Resources Law, Human Rights and Criminal Justice.
[2] He contested the Navrongo Central seat in 2004 and 2008 on the ticket of the People's National Convention but lost on both occasions to Joseph Kofi Adda of the New Patriotic Party.
[3] This action was taken based on the fact that the council recommended three persons for appointment to the Supreme Court however, one was left out.
"[3] Justice Pwamang was vetted on 3 June 2015[4] and approved by parliament[1] but his appointment was challenged by madam Eva Oboshie Sai of the General Legal Council.
[5] The appointment process was consequently protracted as the then Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Woode formed a Disciplinary Committee to investigate the matter.
