Gameren is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland.

It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 14 km (8.7 mi) northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch.

Gameren was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Kerkwijk.

[3] The village was first mentioned in 1146 as Gamberem, and means "settlement on the Gamber (river)".

[4] Gameren developed into a stretched out esdorp along the Waal.
