Colonel Sir George Ashley Maude, KCB (11 November 1817 – 31 May 1894) was a British army officer and Crown Equerry to Queen Victoria.
John Charles Maude, of Enniskillen, Ireland, and Mary, daughter of William Cely Trevilian.
[1] Maude was educated at Sherborne School and entered the Royal Horse Artillery in 1834, which he later commanded as Colonel.
[2] As Lieutenant-Colonel, he was military assistant to the British mission attending the coronation of Tsar Alexander II of Russia in 1856, which was led by Lord Granville.
