George Hume Steuart (April 10, 1865 – January 6, 1945) was a physician from Maryland who occupied a number of leading medical positions.
Later, in 1918, he became assistant superintendent and chief medical director at the Rosewood Training School (as it was then known) at Owings, Maryland, where he remained for six years, until 1924.
[5] After two years his health began to decline and he returned to his home in Ottoman, Virginia, where he developed a local medical practice.
[3]Steuart served three terms as a member of the Lancaster County Board of Supervisors, and was chairman at the time of his death.
He was survived by wife Irene and his two children: Mrs Eyjolf Bjornsson of Denver, Colorado and George Hume Steuart, who became a diplomat in the US Foreign Service.
