George Stone Barnum (September 26, 1819 – November 20, 1893) was an American businessman, Republican politician, and Wisconsin pioneer.
[1] He moved west to the Wisconsin Territory in the mid-1840s, settling initially in Fond du Lac County.
He faced no Democratic opponent in the general election and went on to represent the district in the 1860 legislative session.
[3] After his term in the Assembly, he was appointed to the board of the State Reform School, but resigned after a year.
[5] After his term in the Senate, Barnum moved to the nearby village of Winneconne, Wisconsin, where he remained for the rest of his life.
[6] George S. Barnum married Mary P. Kinsley on January 6, 1842, at Monkton, Vermont.
