[4] Gevorg Davtyan started weightlifting in 1994 under the honored coach of Armenia, Vahan Bichakhchyan.

He also won a gold medal at the 2001 Junior World Championship.

After that, Davtyan began to compete in adult competitions.

He won the silver medal in the 77 kg category at the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships.
