Al Qaddāḩīyah (Gheddahia, Arabic: القداحية) is a town in the Misrata District in northeastern Libya.
[1] It is about 7 km south of the Libyan Coastal Highway (Via Balbia), between the cities of Sirte and Misrata.
[2] From independence in 1951 to 1983 Al Qaddahiyah was part of the Misrata Governorate.
On 18 May 1914 a severe earthquake near Gheddahia resulted in the complete destruction of the fort there.
The quake was recorded by numerous European seismic stations.
