Google Cloud Platform

In April 2008, Google announced App Engine, a platform for developing and hosting web applications in Google-managed data centers, which was the first cloud computing service from the company.

Since the announcement of App Engine, Google added multiple cloud services to the platform.

Like other cloud computing solutions, applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform are subject to the fallacies of distributed computing, a series of misconceptions that can lead to significant issues in software development and deployment.

A zone is a deployment area for Google Cloud Platform resources within a region.
