The South Fork of the Cass River flows into the North Branch in the township;[9][10] Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park is nearby.
[11] As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 804 people, 276 households, and 218 families residing in the township.
There were 317 housing units at an average density of 8.8 per square mile (3.4/km2).
18.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
