HMS Orontes (1813)

HMS Orontes was a 36-gun Scamander-class fifth rate frigate of the Royal Navy.

Her first commander was Captain Nathaniel Day Cochrane, who served on the Irish Station.

On 31 January 1815 Lloyd's List reported that Orontes was one of the escorts of a fleet that had left St Thomas on 11 December 1814.

[1] On 18 February 1817, Lloyd's List reported that Orontes, just arrived at Portsmouth, had spoken with Grant at 1°32′N 17°15′W / 1.533°N 17.250°W / 1.533; -17.250, out 110 days on her voyage from Madras to England.
