Animal husbandry is the main source of income for the town's inhabitants.

Socotra Airport is located about 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) west of Hadibu, and close to the third-largest town in the archipelago, Qād̨ub.

A paved road runs along the north shore from Qalansiyah in the west to Hadibu and then to the DiHamri area in the east.

Another paved road runs from the northern to the southern coast, through the Dixsam Plateau.
