Hanson is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Hanson in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.5 km2 (2.1 mi2), of which 4.8 km2 (1.9 mi2) is land and 0.6 km2 (0.2 mi2) (11.79%) is water.

At the 2000 census,[5] there were 2,044 people, 652 households and 560 families residing in the CDP.

There were 652 households, of which 40.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.2% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.1% were non-families.

11.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
