Heaviside (lunar crater)

Heaviside is a large lunar impact crater that is located on the far side of the Moon.

The outer wall of Heaviside has been worn and eroded by subsequent impacts, particularly to the north and south.

The relatively flat interior floor is marked by many small craters and rugged terrain to the southeast and west.

The crater was named after British mathematician and physicist Oliver Heaviside by the IAU in 1970.

[4] By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Heaviside.
