Henning Melber (born August 22, 1950, in Stuttgart) is a German political scientist and sociologist.

[6] In the 1970s, Melber studied Political Science and Sociology at the Free University of Berlin.

[8][9][10][11] Since 2012 Melber has been an extraordinary professor at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

From 2017 to 2023 he was President of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes ( EADI) in Bonn.
