Henri Stempffer (23 January 1894 – 1 November 1978) was a French entomologist who specialized in the study of Lycaenidae butterflies.
He then was working at the Banque de France (living at 32, rue Théodore-Honoré at Nogent-sur-Marne, Seine).
[6] Although he was a specialist of the African fauna, he had never been in Africa, but he visited many countries as Italy, Greece, and Yugoslavia.
[8] During the Second World War he was part of the resistance movement and received the Ordre de la Libération in 1944.
