Herbert Dellwing

Herbert Dellwing (1940 – 31 December 2010) was a German art historian and historic preservationist.

Born in Großauheim, Dellwing studied art history from 1960 at the Kunstgeschichtlichen Institut [de] of the Goethe University Frankfurt.

In 1967, he received his doctorate in art history with a thesis on the architecture of the mendicant orders in the Veneto at the University of Frankfurt.

Since 1975, he worked as a curator at the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Rheinland-Pfalz in Speyer and Mainz.

Since 1991, he taught as an associate professor of art history[2] at the Kunstgeschichtliches Institut der Universität Frankfurt [de].
