Hieracium transiens

Hieracium transiens is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae, native to south-eastern Europe, Turkey, the Caucasus and Kazakhstan.

[1] It was first described by Josef Franz Freyn in 1891 as Hieracium subvillosum var.

[1][2] More than 50 subspecies were accepted in 2024, many of which, such as Hieracium insolitum, had previously been treated as full species.

As of October 2024[update], Plants of the World Online accepted 55 subspecies.

[1] Most of these were transferred from Hieracium erythrocarpum when this species was reduced to H. transiens subsp.
