One of the highest-paid television actresses in India,[2][3] Khan is widely recognised for portraying Akshara Maheshwari Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (2009–2016).

[4] Post her work in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Khan emerged as the runner-up in the eighth and the eleventh seasons of the reality shows Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (2017) and Bigg Boss (2017–2018).
