Clubs such as Énosis Tataoúlon (Ένωσις Ταταούλων) and Iraklís (Ηρακλής) from the Tatavla district, Mégas Aléxandros (Μέγας Αλέξανδρος) and Ermís (Ερμής) of Galata and Olympiás (Ολυμπιάς) of Therapia existed to promote the Hellenic athletic and cultural ideals.
