Sports teams are called the Tigers, and they compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the All-American Conference.

Howland High School's Speech & Debate team won OHSSL State Championships in the 2008-2009 and 2010-2011 seasons.

They won the game 5-0 in a rematch over Tipp City to earn the school's first and only boys soccer state championship.
