Huechys (from Chinese: 血䗁; pinyin: xiějì / xuèjì; Wade–Giles: hsieh3chi4 / hsüeh4chi4; lit.

Although it has been claimed that the Chinese name refers to Huechys, Chinese entomologist Gaines Liu notes that the name Chu ki refers to Lycorma delicatula.
