[2] The township contains 18 cemeteries: Anderson, Beavers, Brandenburg, Coles County Poor Farm, Grant, Hurricane, Old Kelly, Liberty, McKenzie, Otterbein, Parker, Salisbury, Sargent, Stewart, Stringtown, Welch, Whetstone and Wiley Brick.

As of the 2020 census[1] there were 763 people, 319 households, and 216 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 95.54% White, 0.79% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.13% from other races, and 3.15% from two or more races.

There were 319 households, out of which 27.00% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.25% were married couples living together, 0.00% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 32.29% were non-families.

28.80% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.90% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
