Inwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County, Florida, United States.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 6,925 people, 2,835 households, and 1,774 families residing in the CDP.

There were 3,249 housing units at an average density of 1,694.7 per square mile (654.3/km2).

There were 2,835 households, out of which 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.4% were married couples living together, 15.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.4% were non-families.

30.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
