Winston is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County, Florida, United States.

[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.4 square miles (14 km2), all land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 9,024 people, 3,293 households, and 2,265 families residing in the CDP.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 63.29% White, 25.61% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 7.91% from other races, and 2.35% from two or more races.

24.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
