James Webb[1] (1835–1895) was a British painter specialising in marine views and landscapes.
[3] He exhibited in London at the Royal Academy and the British Institute between 1850 and 1888, and many of his works still hang in London in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Tate Gallery.
Other works are found in a large number of provincial galleries.
[4] He died on 9th March 1895 at the City of London Asylum, Dartford and is buried at Brompton Cemetery.
