Jennie Somogyi

Jennie Renee Somogyi (pronounced sa-mo-JEE[1] or sum-O-gee;[2] born 1977 or 1978[3]) is an American former ballet dancer.

Jennie Renee Somogyi was born in Easton, Pennsylvania,[3] to a mechanic father and receptionist mother, and was raised in Alpha, New Jersey.

[8][9] Somogyi became an apprentice with the New York City in 1993,[1] at age 15 and while she was still a high school sophomore.

She had created roles for Jerome Robbins, Christopher Wheeldon, Benjamin Millepied and Susan Stroman.

[5][6] In 2017, she opened the Jennie Somogyi Ballet Academy in her hometown of Easton, Pennsylvania.
