Jesus Church, Cieszyn

The construction of the Lutheran basilica was made possible with the assistance of Sweden's Charles XII, who forced Austrian Emperor Joseph I to provide right for Protestants.

[1] Late Austrian Baroque in style, Jesus Church was constructed between 1709 1710 and between 1750 the bell tower was built .

The church has a capacity of 6000 people (sitting on benches) and a lot of standing places if necessary.

The Church also houses the Protestant Museum altogether with Tschammer Library which has about 23 000 books in its collection.
