Ji Xiaocheng

[1] He went to the Soviet Union in 1955 to study at the Leningrad Institute of Paediatrics, where he earned an associate doctor degree[2][3] three and half years later.

[1] Ji worked at the Institute of Paediatrics of Beijing Children's Hospital after returning to China.

[1] In 1961, he was transferred to the Department of Paediatrics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, where he worked under doctors Zhou Huakang 周华康 and Lin Qiaozhi.

[2][3] After the People's Republic of China and the United States established diplomatic relations in 1979, Ji was sponsored by the China Medical Board to study modern medical practices in the United States at the University of California, San Diego.

[1] Upon returning to China, he introduced perinatal medicine to the country, and together with doctors Zhou Huakang and Zhao Shimin 赵时敏, established China's first neonatal intensive care unit at PUMC Hospital.
