James C. Hammond (born June 18, 1950 in Missoula, Montana)[1] is the current mayor of Coeur d'Alene.
[2] He was elected as mayor of Coeur d'Alene in November 2021, and he has been portrayed as a moderate Republican.
[3][4] Hammond attended Carroll College and received his BA in Education in 1973.
[5] Hammond won the Republican primary with 50.6% of the vote in a three way race against John Green and Jack Schroeder.
[10] Hammond defeated Democratic nominee Charles W. "Chuck" Thomas with 66.64% of the vote.
