Joanne Horniman (born 1951) is an Australian author who has won several awards for her books for children, teenagers and young adults.
Her novels often set in country New South Wales, and often deal with such themes as the search for identity, family relationships, growing up in rural communities, and teenage parenthood.

She started writing at the age of about six, and has written stories on a regular basis since then.
Growing up, she had an avid interest in politics, regularly reading the works of Karl Marx.
