Johannes Alphonsus Huisman

Johannes Alphonsus Huisman (30 April 1919 – 7 February 2003), also known as J.

A. Huisman, was a Dutch philologist who specialized in Germanic studies.

Johannes Alphonsus Huisman was born in Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands on 30 April 1919.

He received his Ph.D. in German philology at Utrecht University in 1950 under the supervision of Hendrik Sparnaay [nl].

The festschrift Palaeogermanica et onomastica (1989) was published in honor of Huisman on his 70th birthday.
